Where a dancer's hands bring clay to life

This small vase measures about 6.5 inches tall with an opening large enough to hold a little bouquet. This size vase can add a delightful accent to any room of the home. In order to make the open, dancing shape, I carve into the vase before the clay dries, and stretch out the sides. 

This deep green glaze blends with almost any decor and provides a matching frame around the wildlife scene within, where a solitary hummingbird feasts on a cluster of flowers and leaves. Fully watertight, the vase can hold living flowers or remain empty and have the same whimsical impact.
