Ruffled Feathers Serving Bowl

This ample serving bowl takes on the three-dimensional shape of a bird. Filling the center of this 15-inch bowl is a painting of a gentle bird. At the periphery, the edge of the bowl turns into the ruffled feathers of its tail.
The pottery is part sculpture, part functional tableware. It can be displayed empty as a piece of sculptural artwork, or used as a functional bowl for pasta, salads, chips, or other types of food offered to a large group.
The piece is covered with a food-safe, satiny white glaze.
