Where a dancer's hands bring clay to life

This 13-inch pitcher is covered with black, gray, and white glazes that create a marbled effect. The handle rises above the neck of the pitcher and then, as it descends, it forms several ripples  and curves before it fuses with the body.

The vessel has several uses. It can be a vase for living flowers with the handle creating a decorative detail, or it can simply stand alone as a piece of sculpture, where the geometry of the shape and the lively design of the glaze create an interest from every angle.

This pitcher is part of a private collection in the Lincoln Center area in NYC. Although no longer available, similar pitchers can be custom ordered  at my  online shop.
